In the Community

I like to think that I am more that just a mortgage broker. I was born and raised on the North Shore, specifically in Lynn Valley and I love this community. Because I grew up in Lynn Valley I want to make sure I am giving back to and supporting my community.

I am very active in the community. I am the founder and past chairman of A Lynn Valley Christmas where we put 75 Christmas trees in the village square each December and we raised over $3500 for the Lynn Valley Lions Christmas Hamper program each year. It is so nice to see a new tradition start in my hometown and I hope it continues for a long time.

I am a past Lynn Valley Lion and co-chairman of Lynn Valley Days. This was a huge job as we transformed Lynn Valley park into a huge tent with a dinner for 500 on the Friday night and then we transitioned into the parade, games and field activities on the Saturday. Having watched the parade and participated in the field activities since I was a child I really enjoyed being involved in keeping this great event alive.

I also support the local schools.   I taught an education seminar for grade 12 students at Argyle High School. I taught the grad class about money, credit and the cost of living on your own. This was so much fun and I wish someone had taught me this info when I was in grade 12.

Being an independent business person has its perks but at times you need support. With that in mind some years ago I founded the “Fast Forward Group”.  This was a North shore based Entrepreneurial Network of twenty local business owners who met once a week to mentor each other and to build referral business. This was a huge success.

As a lifelong sailor and member of the West Vancouver Yacht Club I volunteer in and around the club for various races and activities. I am an active board member since 2017.  Working for myself has allowed me the time to give back to the community where I live.
